This morning Clay and Christie dropped
off my Mini at Walmart after borrowing it for a day while
there truck was being fixed. They just happened to drop it
in what was going to be the center of the biggest Hail storm
in the history of Denver. My Mini got creamed. First the sunroof
was taken out by golfball (big golfballs) sized ice chunks
and then it rained inside. The hood and fenders in the front
took quite a beating too. The ice field was about 4 inches
deep before it started to melt.
We were on our way to pick up the car when
we noticed that the road was getting wet. Then the road started
having a little ice on it. Then I saw a car with its windshield
out. I asked Kristine how far we were from Walmart, hoping
that it was really far! It was 2 more miles. The further we
drove, the more ice there was. Then we turned down the road
to Walmart, only to find that it was like winter at Vail.
When we pulled into the parking lot our little car was all
alone on the side of the lot and all busted up.
After we pulled in we started to clean
it up and it started to rain hard and then hail again! We
covered it in towels to prevent further damage but, what a
mess! Anyway- 15 minutes later the sun is out.
You know what they say about Colorado:
"If you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes."
It is also said that, "nothing is as good or bad as it
seems at the moment." Here are the photos.
