My daughter, Emily is 13 years old and
well into her first year with a roll. She has paddled in Colorado,
Tennessee, North Carolina, on the Potomac, and Ottawa Rivers this
year. Her “big” trip was to fly to the Middle Fork of
the Salmon River in Idaho for a five day trip down that river. I
have only talked with her since she got off the river by phone,
but I gather that it was a memorable trip. Camping on the sandy
beaches under the stars, meeting new friends, and some quality paddling,
all made for a great trip for her. When she returns here to Rock
Island, I will have her write up her experiences there.
