| Team Trials Over! Here are the results from the team trials: Junior Women’s Team Junior Men’s Team C-1 Women’s Kayak Men’s Kayak Wow what a roller coaster day for me. Emily makes the first US Team she has tried for. Then Dane paddles in his first trials, and although he didn’t make the team, he was awesome. Then it is my turn, in a hole one mile from my house, where I average 350+ points on rodeo rides, and I have four of the worst rides I could imagine in a row. Getting 11th in prelims, and then 11th in finals. Crazy. Andrew Holcomb the World’s silver medalist, got 15th after some great practice rides. This is the first time I have will have ever had to sit on the bench during an international freestyle competition. That is a tough pill to swallow for me. But, I can honestly say that I would have traded my spot on the team for a spot for Emily any day. I can’t tell you what it means to a child to qualify for such a position, representing her country in international competition. I learned a lot. Mostly things I knew already. First off, I won’t ever fly to a symposium or any other function the week before a major competition. I also learned that I can lose something so important to me, but not be sad due to having so many other things to be happy for. So, see you next year at the world’s. Don’t count on my ever missing another US Team any time soon, I’m on fire, no holds barred, oh yea. EJ
