My Run Down the Great Falls - by Dane Jackson

The fun1’s second run was the great falls rock island, Tennessee. The lines we took were river left and center called the spout. The left is a 24 footer, and the spout is a 21 footer. It was half a gate spilling from the dam. It was me, my dad Eric, clay Wright, and a junior named Mark. We eddied out right above the waterfall. It was clay then mark then me then my dad Eric. Everyone seemed to have a good line. The all leaned back at the lip. But when I paddled off the lip I leaned forward and plugged it in hard. It was a lot of fun. Then we climbed up to run the spout. It was higher water than I have ever run it at. So it was a bit more scary than before. Everyone boofed right except my dad Eric who boofed left instead of right he landed flat hard but he was in a creek boat. I went off but then I thought I was to far right so I slowed down but right at the lip I stopped and got pulled right in dead center and was getting worked in the hole for about 5-10 seconds. Then I eventually I flushed out then rolled up. It was a awesome day on the river.
