EJ and Clay make the top 5 in 2 Fun’s at
the American River Festival
April 25, 2004
It is funny to see Clay and I in the 2 Fun because
we are obviously in a boat one size too small. Kind of like walking
around in jeans that don’t cover your ankles. However, two
weeks in a row the 2 Fun was still big enough for some big air and
retentive enough to compete in for a 165 and a 175 pounder. One
or two more weeks until we are in the Fun, oh yea!
The competition was intense from the start with
a cut to 5 from prelims consisting of 5 heats. Clay and I made the
top 5 which was quite cool, because we kept in the game and were
able to keep on paddling.
In the finals- the water was dropping but we
just made it in time. I had two good rides and finished second,
Andrew Holcombe had an awesome ride to win, making it the second
weekend in a row that I was the bridesmaid instead of the bride,
oh well. Plenty of events left. I am getting hungry to win again,
so look out.
No photos today- Photographer was competing (me),
other photographer was scoring (Kristine).
Oregon Cup, here we come! Extreme racing, ocean
surfing, and rodeos!!
