It was a major push to film and edit this video along with the work on the Jackson Kayaks at the same time, but we did it! The filming was done entirely on location at Rock Island . We were able to use three different pools, as well as the students of Rapid Learning of Chattanooga and Rock Creek Outfitters. The video is the most comprehensive video ever produced on the survival skills of kayaking, rolling and bracing. The skills start off with “Learning the Brace”, then “Learning the Roll”, then “Improving the Brace”, then “Improving the Roll” (which covers every which way for rolling, bombproofing your roll, etc.), then the “Hand Roll”. There is also a bonus track on “Teaching the, EJ’s, You can Roll in 15 Minutes or Less Program” and “Teaching Kids to Kayak” , EJ trying to rope and Emu, and more. Look for cool Rock Island footage of Jackson Kayaks in action with Emily, Dane, Clay Wright, and myself paddling them. The DVD is due out on Feb. 15 th, 2004.
