Today Dane paddled the first Fun 1 in plastic
and the boat, of course, has zero holes drilled in it, compared
to an average of 10 holes in competitors boats. What is the difference?
How about no water in it after two hours of surfing? That is right,
Dane paddle for two hours in 16,000 cfs breaking waves, surfing
at Rock Island at high water today, doing lots of rolls and in 6’
high breaking waves and got out with a boat that was about as wet
as your deck with some dew on it. I think I will get him a new skirt
because this one is two years old and is a size 30 waist (he is
a 23) so I would be interesting to see if we put a piece of paper
in his boat and he paddled if he could come out with the paper completely
dry.
David Knights design of the cockpit shape is
unmatched for both the top view and the side view. In the side view
a constant slightly rising curve in the cockpit rim keeps the sprayskirt
rand tight against the top of the rim. Bottom line is: Bone Dry
Want a boat that leaks like a sieve or a dry
boat? Dry is the ticket!
