I grew up fishing the creeks, rivers, and lakes of central Arkansas. My heart was always with the simplicity of creek fishing and stalking bass with my ultra-light and a small white Rapala. In my mid-twenties, I moved to Northwest Arkansas and discovered smallmouth bass. Who would have thought bass fishing could get better? Life took some turns and I wandered west climbing and fishing the trout streams of Utah, Arizona, and California, until one day I caught a 2lb smallie outside of Yosemite Park, the fuse was re-lit and I have been eating, drinking, and sleeping bass ever since. It was an easy progression to kayak fishing, with its quiet simplicity.
