How I started kayaking: I got the kayaking bug on a brief program in high school but credit the Bowdoin College Outing Club for really pushing me and giving me the opportunity to paddle on a regular basis. I also sailed competitively throughout college but ended up quitting the sailing team so that I could dedicate more time to kayaking. I haven't looked back.
Why I love paddling:
- The dynamic river playground and the puzzles its rapids present.
- The people with whom I get to share eddies.
- The unique and spectacular places I get to see from the river and travel to to paddle.
- The fun and the challenge!
Other sports: Snowboarding/skiing and horseback riding
